Ghanaian celebrity Akuapem Poloo known in private life as Rosemond Brown is expected back in court on Friday, April 16, 2021 for the final hearing of her case.
Last Wednesday, an Accra Circuit Court convicted her for posting naked photo of herself with her 7-year-old son on the internet.
Akuapem Poloo risks spending three years in jail.
‘It’s a misdemeanor on the part of Akuapem Poloo, so she could go in for a maximum of three years’, top Ghanaian lawyer explained.
But social media influencers are campaigning for actress Akuapem Poloo to be freed or atleast, be given a less harsh punishment.
Using the hashtag ‘#FreeAkuapemPoloo’, social media users have suggested an alternative punishment for her.
Friends from the Ghanaian entertainment industry including Efya, Sarkodie, Reggie Rockstone, Nana Ama McBrown have pleaded with the law to temper justice with mercy.
Akuapem Poloo’s biological mother has also appealed to the law to pardon her daughter so she can come home and take care of her little son.
