With just few hours for the Republic of Ghana to swear-in a new president (John Mahama) on January 7,2025, the outgoing leader Nana Akufo-Addo has vacated the Jubilee House, presidential palace to enable a smooth takeover by the next administration.
President Akufo-Addo is reported to have left the Jubilee House two weeks ago, packing out all his personal belongings.
He is said to have moved into his Nima residence, one rumoured to be his late father’s house. But the decision was taken by himself to live here despite having other private property elsewhere.
Earlier today,President Akufo-Addo conducted John Mahama, President-elect, round the residence of the Presidency-called the Villa-as part of formalities at the Jubilee House.
During his conversation with Akufo-Addo, Mahama stated that the last time he was president he didn’t live in the Presidential Villa, and that Akufo-Addo was the first president to live there.
Many believe Mahama’s statement is deep and it gives a likely indication that he (Mahama) won’t stay in the Presidential Villa after he officially takes over power on Tuesday.SOURCE: Kasatintin.com
