Kasatintin.com has gathered latest information as to why President Nana Akufo-Addo’s flight was unable to land in Wa in the Upper West Region on Tuesday, July 13.
The President, according to reports, was expected in Wa as part of his annual nationwide tour.
Dignitaries and party sympathisers in Upper West Region had gathered to welcome President Akufo-Addo on Tuesday but an announcement was made that he could not land because of poor weather.
The rains were falling heavily in Wa.
Local media said the weather condition was so terrible when the President’s flight attempted to land.
The pilot made an emergency landing in Tamale.
A reporter told Starr News ‘The defense minister and the interior minister came by chopper. But the president was expected in about thirty minutes time and we actually saw the president’s plane surface but it couldn’t land due to the bad weather’.
‘We are being told he’s returned back to Tamale and when the weather gets better, he’s likely to come back’.
The reporter said ‘As I speak to you right now, we are currently at the airport. We’ve been here for over an hour and counting’.
‘It’s still drizzling and there are other dignitaries parked and waiting. The weather is still not clear, and I don’t know if due to flight regulations the president can still land on not’.
