Popular Nigerian pastor and General Superintendent of the Redemption Ministries Worldwide, Rev. Stephen Akinola has died.
News of Akinola’s passing came in just at the same time Nigerians and the world were mourning Prophet TB Joshua of the Synagogue Church of All Nations who died on June 5.
‘Yes, it is a very sad day for the Christian community. While we were still talking of Prophet TB Joshua, Akinola’s death happened’, Apostle Eugene Ogu, former Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria in Rivers State said while confirming the sad news.
He stated that Akinola laboured so much for the body of Christ.
‘It is so sad. I pray that God comforts the entire body of Christ because he (Akinola) laboured so much for the body of Christ’.
Rev. Akinola is reported to have undergone a kidney transplant sometime ago, but the true cause of his death is yet to be ascertained.
Members of his congregation and residents thronged to the church headquartered in Port Harcourt to mourn the famous cleric.
