Most popular American pastor and founder of The Potter’s House, Bishop T.D Jakes has taken a decision to step down as leader of the church, having been in charge for 30years.
The 67-year-old pastor has decided to hand over the role of senior pastor to his daughter, Sarah Jakes Roberts and son-in-law Touré Roberts.
Bishop Jakes informed his congregation during Sunday service at The Potter’s House, Dallas, Texas that Sarah and Touré will officially assume their new roles as senior pastors in July 2025.
‘You have been faithful to God, and you have been faithful to me’, Jakes said with tears flowing down his cheeks.
The Bishop is taking the backseat due to illness. He suffered a slight heart attack in November 2024 while preaching.
‘I cannot afford, especially after November, to risk something happening to me, and you be sheep without a shepherd’, he told his church members on Sunday,April 27,2025.
Despite his resignation, Bishop Jakes will remain on The Potter’s House Board of Directors in order to ensure a smooth transition and also offer continual guidance for the church.
Also, Ghanaian man has ran to the Supreme Court to seek justice for Jesus Christ.
According to him, Jesus, while alive was k!lled on the cross without any proper reason.
For him, the founder of Christianity never received a fair trial leading to his death on the cross.
He is therefore asking the court to revisit the case and prefer the necessary compensation to Jesus’ family. Watch the video below for more information on this story.
