Sad news! President Akufo-Addo’s personal bodyguard, Colonel Isaac Amponsah has collapsed while standing guard in the chamber of Parliament today, Friday, January 3, 2024.
The unexpected incident occurred while President Akufo-Addo was delivering his last State of the Nation Address in Parliament House.
Parliament’s medical team rushed to the scene to assist Col. Amponsah. After receiving initial first aid, the team quickly transported him to the nearest facility for further medical attention.
Col. Amponsah has served as a dedicated member of the President’s security detail for many years.
