Six journalists have been arrested over the circulation of a video appearing to show South Sudan President Salva Kiir Mayardit urinating on himself.
In December 2022, Mr Kiir was caught in a social media clip wetting himself as the national anthem played at a function claimed to be the inauguration of a road project.
The 71-year-old President is believed to be suffering from a urinary tract infection. But the condition is common in older men.
Six staff from the state broadcaster including two camera operators, camera technician,control room director and control room technician have been detained this week over the viral video Kasatintin.com has seen.
They ‘are suspected of having knowledge on how the video of the president urinating himself came out’, Patrick Oyet, President of the South Sudan Union of Journalists told Reuters.
