Bulldog, the manager of Shatta Wale has been arrested on Monday January,11, 2020.
Bulldog got into trouble after allegedly passing a comment about President Nana Akufo-Addo on UTV which some argue amount to some form of threat.
There are conflicting reports on why the outspoken artiste manager was arrested.
The tabloids however report that, supporters of the NPP made the call for his arrest,while other news portals alleged that some thugs from the presidency caused bulldog’s arrest and dumped him at the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) now called National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) cells.
In a video circulating on social media, Bulldog, while claiming to have invested in Menzgold said President Akufo-Addo will not finish his 4-year-term in office if he does not pay the locked-up funds of the aggrieved customers of the gold dealership firm.
It is unclear as of now the charges that investigators will press against Bulldog.
In a relate news, the Police CID picked up Oheneba Boamah , Apro-NDC journalist on December 14,2020 over insults and threats he issued against President Nana Akufo-Addo.
In a statement the Police said: ‘the suspect is being held for allegedly insulting and issuing series of threats to the President of the Republic of Ghana and Commander in Chief of the Ghana Armed Forces, H.E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in a video which he shared on his Facebook page.’
The video is said to have been recorded on December 9, 2020 following the declaration of the 2020 election results.
The opposition NDC has rejected the 2020 presidential election results saying it has been rigged in favour of incumbent President Akufo-Addo.
The party’s presidential candidate John Mahama has also filed a petition at the Supreme Court to challenge the election results.
Oheneba Boamah, the co-host of Power FM ‘Inside Politics’ show was detained in police custody.
According to Police, ‘the suspect, 36 years old has been cautioned on the offences of Offensive Conduct Conducive to Breaches of the Peace and Publication of False News contrary to sections 207 and 208(1) respectively, of the Criminal and Other Offences Act 1960 (Act 29).’
