China has executed Li Jianping, a former secretary of the ruling Communist Party.
The Supreme People’s Court in Inner Mongolia found Li, 64 guilty in a $421 million corruption case on Tuesday, December 17, 2024. He received a death sentence for the offense.
This is the largest sum involved in a single corruption case in China’s history, local media said.
Li’s court case started in September 2022 but Chinese President Xi Jinping has gone wild on corrupt politicians since he came to power in 2012.
More than a million party officials, including two Defence Ministers and dozens of military officials have punished and prosecuted in the past years. SOURCE: Kasatintin.com
