A 33-year-old casket maker has been arrested and currently being questioned for allegedly interfering with patients’ medical treatment at a hospital in Limbe, Cameroon.
The suspect, identified as Cameron, was caught on camera removing intravenous (IV) drips from patients in the hospital, according to reports.
Hospital authorities expressed concerns about Cameron’s reckless and unauthorized behaviour saying it posed a serious threat to the patients’ well-being and recovery.
‘It’s absolutely unacceptable for someone who is not a medical professional to be tampering with patients’ medical equipment. We take this incident very seriously and have reported it to the authorities’, a hospital spokesperson is claimed to have said.
The hospital has taken immediate steps to ensure the safety of patients and is also requesting anyone with information related to the case to come forward and assist the ongoing investigations.
