The Ghana Drunkards Association has declared Friday, June 11 as National Drinking Day.
According to the drunkards association President, Moses Onyah, Friday should be observed as National Drinking Day in order to release Ghanaians from all the stress and hardships in the system.
Mr Onyah, better known as Moses Drybone also entreated non members of the association to take at least one shot on Friday to help check the high rate of mental problems in the country.

‘Even if you are not a drunkard please do as much as possible to take one shot and be careful, drink responsibly. It doesn’t matter the kind of drink, whether it’s coke, beer or any of the bitters’, he stated at a press conference on Thursday.
Onyah stressed that ‘We the Drunkards Association of Ghana will like Friday, June 11, to be recognized as a National Drinking Day’.
‘We believe that measures taken by the association to ignite members to drink responsibly in order to release all these stress and hardships in the system, will also help reduce mental problems in the country’.
Scores of drunkards have defied the rains in some part of the country to observe the day at the drinking spot, Kasatintin.com can report.
The drunkards association are likely to petition the President to regularise the celebration on the national calendar as they say it can help control the high rate of mental problems in Ghana.
Moses Onyah, in an earlier interview with Kasatintin TV said the association is working closely with suppliers, bar operators, local gin producers and breweries to ensure consumers get unlimited access to alcoholic beverages to keep them happy.
