Two ladies and a young boy have sustained severe burns following a gas explosion at their home at Koforidua-Oyoko in the Eastern Region.
One of the victims identified as Asante Rose, a Purchasing and Supply student of Koforidua Technical University died a few hours after being taken to the Eastern Regional Hospital for emergency care.
Sources claimed that Rose sensed a gas leakage in the kitchen and decided to trace the exact source of the leakage. She lighted a match and this caused the explosion.
Rose’s younger brother and a neighbour were caught up in the explosion. Unfortunately, Rose passed away; the rest are still in critical condition, receiving treatment at the Eastern Regional Hospital.
