Transport fares are expected to go up by 30% starting Thursday, March 7, 2024.
Commuters will have to pay more for public transports as two major transport unions say it will enable them to meet their operational costs.
The Transport Operators Union and the Concerned Drivers Association of Ghana jointly announced the 30% hike in transport fares in a press statement issued on Monday.
They attributed the fare increase to the failure of government to address their concerns effectively.
The unions also cited continuous surge in fuel prices as justification for the new fare. SOURCE: Kasatintin.com
