One of Ghana’s finest highlife musicians Nana Tuffour has died.
Nana Tuffour who was affectionately called 9-9-2-4 reportedly died at home in the early hours of Monday after a short illness.
A family source disclosed that the body of the veteran musician has been deposited at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital Mortuary.
The singer was known in private life as James Nana Tuffour. He was born on Valentine’s Day in 1954.
Nana Tuffour had 15 albums to his credit. Some of his hit songs include Abeiku, Kakra, Sika Kakra, Akatakyiwa, Owuo Sei Fie, Me Yere Dada, Nyankonton, Adiepena, M’anu Me Ho and a host of others.
The ‘Abeiku’ singer a few months ago released a new song ‘Abasa Komu’ which has started to enjoy massive airplay.
The bereaved family are yet to announce date for the final funeral rites of the late musician.
This is the second time Ghana has lost a great highlife singer this year.
On Sunday February 2, 2020, Kofi B passed away shortly after performing with colleague musician Kofi Nti in Abease Dominase in the Central Region.
Kofi B reportedly died of heart attack. The musician passed on theassed on his daughter’s birthday.
