Ghana’s official presidential jet,Falcon 900 Ex has been seen flying in the skies but it’s being used by Liberian President, George Oppong Weah.
President Weah flew from Liberia to Ghana in the Falcon 900 Ex jet for an Emergency ECOWAS Summit held on September 15, 2021in Accra.
Photos circulating on the internet show President Weah waving at his ministers at the Liberian airport whiles in the controversial Ghana presidential jet.
The terms and conditions regarding the use of Ghana’s presidential jet by the Liberian head of state is not yet available.
President Nana Akufo-Addo has been condemned by a section of the public for renting luxurious jet for his recent foreign trips instead of travelling with the Presidential jet.
NDC MP for North Tongue, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has requested Parliament to probe President Akufo-Addo over the charter of airplane which cost between US$18,000 and US$22,000 per hour.
Government has however defended why President Akufo-Addo is unable to use the Falcon 900 Ex jet. The expensive chartered flight is said to have an exquisite movie theater, bedroom and a classy bathroom.
Some Ghanaians are urging government to clarify why President George Oppong Weah safely used Ghana’s presidential jet but President Akufo-Addo has consistently declined to use it.
