The Ghanaian government has allocated Gh¢150million ((approximately $13.68 million) to the support the Black Stars’ preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The funds will cover various expenses, including:
1.Preparation Costs: Training camps, friendlies, and other pre-tournament logistics
2.Club Benefit Programme: Contributions to football clubs that release players to the national team.
3.Club Protection Programme: Insurance and compensation for clubs in case players are injured while playing for the national team.
The announcement was made by Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson during the presentation of the 2026 Budget Statement in Parliament on Thursday,November 13,2026.
In addition, the government has earmarked GH¢200 million for the construction of mini-stadia in three regions to support grassroots football.
The Black Stars will know their group-stage opponents for the World during the official draw in Washington, DC, on December 5, 2025.
