Some fifty seven (57) radio stations in Ghana could lose their broadcast licenses in the coming days.
The Minister for Communications, Digital Technology, and Innovations, Samuel Nartey George has hinted that the 57 radio stations may have their frequencies suspended due to regulatory breaches.
Sam George explained that the suspension is not a punitive measure but a better way to offer the affected FM stations an opportunity to rectify their infractions and comply with broadcasting regulations before resuming operations.
‘We cannot have a situation where media houses flout regulations and claim that press freedom exempts them from meeting licensing conditions, Sam George warned while speaking with the press on Monday.
