UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson and wife Carrie are expecting another baby together.
Mrs Johnson dropped the good news in a post on her social media account sighted by Kasatintin.com and hinted that the baby may arrive before Christmas.
She said she had a miscarriage at the start of the year and feels ‘incredibly blessed to be pregnant again but I’ve also felt like a bag of nerves’.
Boris Johnson is 57 years old while Carrie is 33 years.
The couple welcomed their first child, Wilfred, in April 2020. The baby was born a month after the Prime Minister was treated in hospital for Covid 19.
They gave their first son the middle name ‘Nicholas’ as a tribute to two medical officers, Dr Nick Price and Dr Nick Hart, who ‘saved Boris’ life’ while being treated for Covid.
Mrs Johnson shared details of her pregnancy and miscarriage problems on Instagram and encouraged others to openly talk about their fertility issues.
She said: ‘At the beginning of the year, I had a miscarriage which left me heartbroken.
‘I feel incredibly blessed to be pregnant again but I’ve also felt like a bag of nerves.
‘Fertility issues can be really hard for many people, particularly when on platforms like Instagram it can look like everything is only ever going well.
‘I found it a real comfort to hear from people who had also experienced loss so I hope that in some very small way sharing this might help others too.’
Mrs Johnson hinted the baby was due before Christmas, stressing they were ‘hoping for our rainbow baby’ for the festive period.
Boris and Carrie have been together since 2018, in the days Mr Johnson was Foreign Secretary.
They got engaged in late 2019, and had a secret marriage ceremony on May 29, 2021 at Westminster Cathedral, attended by thirty guests.
Mr Johnson has previously been married twice before and has at least six children already, reports said.
