A few days ago, the Guinness World Records (GWR) officially confirmed that Afua Asantewaa’s ‘World Records attempt for the longest singing marathon was not successful’. It however recognized that Afua has been an inspirational to her fans.
The GWR explained that ‘The evidence check had already begun before Afua requested priority service, so we refunded her payment [$750]earlier this month. We wish Afua the best of luck with any future record attempts’.
The public is concerned she may have received the GWR response in time and accused her of deliberately keeping the information in her closet.
It appears Afua Asantewaa knew she will be disqualified at all cost by the GWR.
Flashback: In an interview with Joy Prime, she prophesied that Kuami Eugene coming to the Akwaaba Village to support her during the singathon was somewhat a bad luck.
Afua disclosed that her strong fondness for Kuami Eugene affected her inability to remember the lyrics of Eugene’s song when he visited her at her singing marathon.
‘I said that guy came and I could not remember my lyrics. I said ‘this guy has worried me.’ If Guinness people don’t give me the record, it’s Kuami Eugene.
‘My husband knows so when he got there I said ‘Kuami you have worried me. You shouldn’t have come. I sang ‘Asuoden’ and you know his rap comes after. As I stood there, I did everything I couldn’t remember’, she said. SOURCE: Kasatintin.com
