A Nigerian pastor has advised women not to acquire a house nor buy a car before getting married.
He stated that women who are able to afford their own homes and ride their own car before marriage tend to have the mentality that they are self-dependent, and no man should control them.
The clergyman said that ‘once you do, you’ll have a power tussle with a man and you won’t be able to get married’.
In a video going round on social media, the pastor is heard saying that ‘If you’re a woman who wants to get married, don’t buy a house or a car. Don’t live alone, stay with family or your sister. Because once you do, you’ll have a power tussle with a man and you won’t be able to get married. You’ll start asking, ‘Who do you think you are?’ because you can now afford your own needs’.
