Government officials have released latest information about the whereabouts and health condition of Vice President, Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang.
The Minister of State in charge of Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu as well as the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa have shared relevant details, reassuring Ghanaians that Prof. Opoku-Agyemang is recovering steadily and expected to resume her official duties shortly.
Felix Kwakye Ofosu stated in a media interview on Tuesday, April 8 that, the Vice President ‘is currently in good health and taking a short rest as advised by her doctors and, in short order, she should be back to her duties…She is in the United Kingdom as I speak’.
Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, while speaking to members of the Ghanaian community in Lagos, Nigeria, on Sunday, April 6, condemned ‘malicious misinformation and propaganda’ about Prof. Opoku-Agyemang.
Ablakwa said ‘some fears about the state of our mother, the first female vice president of the Republic of Ghana. I also want to assure that she is doing very, very well. Your prayers worked, your prayers from all of us, Ghanaians at home and abroad, have really worked’.
He added that ‘I have heard from her, so I know what I am talking about, and she’s doing well’.
