Ghana’s president John Mahama was inaugurated in Accra today, Tuesday, January 7,2025.
Mahama, together with his Vice Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang took the oath of office before Chief Justice Gertrude Araba Esaaba Sackey Torkornoo at the Black Stars Square in Accra.
During his inaugural address, the president called for unity and positive mindset as his administration takes over power from Nana Akufo-Addo, who has been in power for the last eight years.
One thing that struck many people is the ability of John Mahama to deliver his speech flawlessly without referring to any prepared script.
The truth is that, Mr Mahama used a device called Presidential Teleprompter during the national event.
In case you are lost, a Presidential Teleprompter is an electronic device mostly used by politicians and public speakers to deliver speeches while maintaining eye contact with their audience without having to memorize their script.
The Presidential Teleprompter is one type of speech prompter that displays the speaker’s script or notes in large, clear text on a glass or acrylic screen, which is positioned at a comfortable viewing distance and angle for the speaker.
A similar device is used during news broadcasts and other shows on television, making it easier for presenters to deliver superb presentations as though they recited the scripts off head. SOURCE: Kasatintin.com
