Time is running out for Ghana’s former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta to surrender himself to the Special Prosecutor for questioning over multiple corruption-related charges raised against him.
The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has declared Mr Ofori-Atta wanted as he has failed to appear before it for investigations.
The OSP has indicated that Mr Ofori-Atta may be residing in the United States or the United Kingdom, where he is allegedly seeking medical treatment.
In its ‘wanted notice’ served on social media today, February 17, the OSP appealed to the public to assist with information on the whereabout of ‘fugitive’ Ken Ofori-Atta.
By issuing the harsh ‘wanted notice’, the OSP is in a way telling the former Finance Minister to be ready for prosecution—whether alive or dead.
Here are the top 5 corruption-related cases the OSP is working on against Ken Ofori-Atta:
1. Strategic Mobilization Ghana Limited & GRA Contract
2.Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) and Beijing Technology Limited Contract Termination
3.National Cathedral Project
4.Procurement of Ambulances; and
5.GRA’s Tax Refund Account Payments
