Former Ghana FA boss, Kwesi Nyantakyi’s biggest hope to step in the shoes of the late Member of Parliament for Ejisu constituency, John Kumah has been denied.
Nyantakyi obtained only 35 votes out of a total of 1033 valid votes cast during the New Patriotic Party (NPP) primaries in the orphan constituency held on Saturday.
Nine candidates contested in the NPP elections. However, Private legal practitioner, Kwabena Boateng emerged victorious. By-election comes off April 30.
The former GFA president’s worst performance at the internal polls may be due to another of factors.
There is much talk about how he suddenly fell ill Friday night and was detained at the Legacy hospital at Asokore Mampong 12 hours before the Ejisu primaries.
‘Weak’ Nyantakyi later stormed the voting center. While briefing the media about the status of his health condition, Nyantakyi couldn’t hold back his tears. Click on link to watch video. SOURCE: Kasatintin.com
