A gunman identified as Thomas Matthew Crooks on Saturday fired bullet at former U.S President Donald Trump.
Trump was addressing party supporters at Pennsylvania when Crooks fired shots into Trump’s ear in a failed assassination attempt. The FBI say the suspect was hiding on a rooftop, a few metres away from the election rally grounds. He was armed with an AR-style rifle.
Thomas Matthew Crooks, a 20-year-old kitchen worker was shot dead at the scene by a Secret Service sniper.
NBC News’ investigations revealed that ‘The rooftop where a gunman shot at former President Donald Trump during a campaign rally was identified by the U.S. Secret Service as a potential vulnerability in the days before the event.
‘The building, owned by a glass research company, stands adjacent to the Butler Farm Show, an outdoor venue in Butler, Pennsylvania. The Secret Service was aware of the risks associated with it’ two sources familiar with the agency’s operation told the news network.
‘Someone should have been on the roof or securing the building so no one could get on the roof’, said one of the sources, a former senior Secret Service agent who was familiar with the planning.
In his quiet and well-to-do hometown, however, neighbours are in shock, seemingly unable to grasp how a quiet young man –Thomas Matthew Crooks–is now accused in the shooting, BBC reporters wrote in a news report which Kasatintin.com has sighted online. There is more in the video below (WATCH).
