Zimbabwe’s President Emmerson Mnangagwa has been forced to deliver part of his state-of-the-nation address using a torchlight.
Mnangagwa was reading his speech at the official opening of parliament in Mount Hampden, about 11 miles northeast of the capital, Harare on Tuesday, October 28,2025 when the power suddenly went off.
The speaker of Parliament held a torch so that the President could finish reading his speech.
Zimbabweans have endured serious power outages throughout the year.
