A Gambian man has gifted his newlywed wife some cash for passing a virginity test.
The bride was taken through the virginity test as part of rigid cultural practices to prove if she didn’t sleep with any man until the time of marriage.
Relatives of the bride celebrated her for keeping herself well for her husband.
The groom who feels lucky to have a pretty lady who is still a virgin willingly paid the cash equivalent to four thousand Ghana Cedis (GH₵4,000).
‘The husband was so happy that he placed a huge sum of D28,000 under her pillow’, a relative said ‘Many people thought she won’t pass the test because of her ‘bougie’ life on social media’.
