44-year old Nigerian man identified as Terhemen Anongo has reportedly removed his testicles in order to have a free mind ‘to serve God better.
Anongo who dropped out of the University of Ibadan medical school some years ago due to health issues, performed the procedure himself which resulted in extensive bleeding.
He was rushed to the hospital after undertaking the risky self-surgery.
Speaking to the media, Terhemen Anongo said he castrated himself based on his religious belief.
The 44-year-old stated that he wants to serve God whole-heartedly devoid of fornication as he is not married.
He said ‘I went to remove the second testicle based on religious belief’.
‘I removed it on Monday. The first one had little hitches but this one had learnt from that experience, I did (remove) it very well. Somebody is always coming to dress it for me’.
‘I’m fine. There is no problem, I’m only waiting for when the wound will heal so I can remove the stitches’, he added in a report sighted by Kasatintin.com.
