The driver of the Suhum member of parliament (MP) is wanted by the police for allegedly beating up an NPP Communicator at the funeral of a party member on Saturday, August 28, 2021.
The MP’s driver is reported to have slashed the forehead of Bernard Kwesi Amoani with a cutlass in a free-for-all fight which broke out between supporters of Dr. Bawumia and Alan Kyeremanteng.
Another person also sustained serious injury.
The victim with cutlass wound on the head was admitted at the Suhum Government Hospital. He received treated and has since been discharged.
Both Bawumia and Alan are seen as key contenders in the flagbearership race of the New Patriotic Party in 2024.
Kasatintin.com has gathered fresh information about the cause of the Saturday chaotic attacks which could have resulted in many fatalities.
It all started when a leading member of one of the factions was prevented from greeting the incumbent MP, Hon. Boadu Kwadwo Asante.
This was perceived by the aggrieved party as a deliberate attempt to prevent their favourite candidate from receiving an attention at the funeral grounds.
It is alleged that, one of the disgruntled foot soldiers unceremoniously ceased the microphone to express his dissatisfaction with the cold reception which at the end got others agitated.
