Police have arrested a 35-year-old man for attempting to commit su!c!de at Ghana’s Parliament House Thursday afternoon ( June 13, 2019).
According to Joy News, the man who has been identified as Kojo Mensah and hails from Kwesimintim, sat at the public gallery with a rope wearing the T-shirt of Kwesimintim MP, Joe Mensah.
The man nearly succeeded in taking his 0wn l!fe ‘much to the surprise of parliamentarians and others in the gallery where he wanted to commit his crime’, reports Adom News journalist, Abednego Asante Asiedu.
Kasatintin.com gathers that Kojo Mensah has since been transferred to Ministry Police Station in Accra for questioning.
He was heard in a viral video saying ‘I will k!ll myself…I will k!ll myself…’ whiles being whisked away by the security.
In 2018, a 49-year-old unemployed man was also arrested for allegedly stealing two bundles of toilet rolls from the washroom of Parliament House.
Reports suggested that, the man sneaked into the Job 600 building – which houses offices for lawmakers – through a lift, entered and searched each washroom for unused toilet rolls.
But Security at the premises raised an alarm after he tried to make away with his loot, resulting in his arrest.
