Veteran Nigerian actress, Rachel Oniga has died at the age of 64.
Oniga sadly passed away on Friday July 30,2021 at about 10pm in a Laos Hospital.
Family sources say the actress suffered a heart-related ailment on Friday night.
They dismissed rumour that Oniga died of COVID-19, emphasising ‘She died from a heart related issue; an ailment she batted with for a short period before her demise’.
But the actress looked quite healthy and shot some scenes in a new movie at Mowe, Ogun state earlier this week before her death, Kasatintin.com gathers.
Penning down a tribute to the deceased, Olusegun Oshiyoye, Facebook user who described Rachel Oniga as his aunt wrote;
‘Rest in peace Aunty Rachel. Words cannot describe what I am feeling right now.
Our last conversation was not like this…Your memories will never be forgotten Mummy Olamiji…Continue to rest in peace’.
Veteran actress, Patience Ozokwo has expressed shock over the demise of her colleague, Rachel Oniga.
She wept bitterly in a video shared online.
In press statement, family described Rachel Oniga’s death as ‘God design’ and ‘function of a race of life well finished’.
They said ‘Painful as it may be, we accept it in good faith and total submission to her maker’.
