Prophet Akin Aderiye, 63 is in hot waters for allegedly inserting his fingers in the private part of an 8-year-old girl.
A Magistrates’ Court in Ekiti State has charged Prophet Aderiye for sexual assault of a minor.
The Nigerian pastor was ‘reasonably suspected to have sexually assaulted the minor on February 10 in Esure Ekiti, Ido/Osi Local Government Area of Ekiti State, contrary to and punishable under Section 31 of the Child Right Laws of Ekiti State (2012)’, prosecution said.
The victim told the police in her recorded statement that :
‘I was coming from my school when Baba Esure called me to come and collect money, he put me on his lap and put his finger to where I am urinating but did not give me the money, the place is now paining me’.
The court has remanded Prophet Aderiyie in the custody of Nigerian Correctional Service for 30days to allow the police to complete their investigations on the case.
The case was adjourned to March 21, 2022.
