The death of Kumasi Asante Kotoko FC fan on Sunday evening has exposed heighten hooliganism and security lapses at venues used for playing the Ghana Premier League.
Not only that, the incident has raised wild concerns about the state of emergency services at the football stadium.
Frimpong Yaw Francis alias Pooley was stabbed multiple times when Kotoko played against Nsoatreman FC over the weekend.
Perhaps, Pooley would have survived the attack if the ambulance service stationed at the Nana Kronmansah II Park had acted more swiftly.
In a viral video shot from the park, people were heard asking the whereabouts of the ambulance driver and for the keys to the ambulance while Pooley was found in a pool of blood.
Pooley got married just six months ago (25th August,2024). It is alleged that before his death at the league centre, an altercation ensued between him and his attacker at a drinking spot near the park. There is more updates on this developing story in the video below.
