President John Mahama has banned government appointees from flying First Class during official trips as part of measures to cut down government expenditure.
President Mahama announced the directive at the Jubilee House on Friday, February 7, 2025.
‘Any travel that is deemed essential and necessary must be cleared first with the Office of the Chief of Staff and such travels will have to be taken in modesty no first class’, he said.
Mr Mahama further advised his appointees not to waste state resources on their extravagant lifestyle, saying ‘The resources you will be working with belong to the Ghanaian people who put us in office’.
