Ghanaian striker Raphael Dwamena passed away on the pitch on Saturday during a game between his club Egnatia Rrogozhinë’s and Partizani Tirana in Albania.
It has been confirmed that the star player suffered cardiac arrest during the 23rd minute of the game on November 11, 2023.
It has also emerged that Raphael Dwamena’s heart problem has been a matter of concern to his managers who advised him to quit professional football in October 2019. But he opted for an implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) which he has been using for years now.
The ICD enabled his club to monitor his heart beat during matches.
Some inquisitive Ghanaians have began making inquiries about the whereabout of Raphael Dwamena’s wife and children while others speculate the player had a side chick.

Our news team gathered that Dwamena was a married man, and since December 2019, he was happily married to one Mavis Acheampong,a Ghanaian nurse with whom they had a son who turned 3years old in March 2023.
