Wife of Ghana’s President, Rebecca Akufo-Addo is facing yet another social media backlash.
This week, Mrs Akufo-Addo was forced to pay back close to GH¢900,000 to the state being the total sum of allowances she received in her capacity as the First Lady since 2017.
This time, it’s the action of the Information Ministry which has caused her name to be dragged in the mud.
The Information Ministry put out a notice on its social media handles on Wednesday evening (July 14) about a scheduled press briefing to tell ‘The Story So Far’ with the Rebecca Foundation, a private NGO of Her Excellency Rebecca Akufo-Addo.
Following the post, a section of the public have expressed concerns over how a state institution –Information Ministry– is actively being used to engage in ‘public relations’ for a private outfit.
