The Ghana national football team, Black Stars must win their next game against Comoros in order to seal their qualification to Round of 16 stage of the African Cup of Nations.
The Black Stars drew 1-1 with Gabon in their second Group C encounter on Friday, January 14, 2022.
Captain Andre Dede Ayew scored the goal for the Black Stars at the 28th minute.
That goal came through after Ayew picked up a pass from Thomas Partey.
But after taking the one-goal lead, Ghana unnecessarily lost control of the game with Gabon having much possession of the ball.
The Gabonese side luckily had an equalizer in the 89th minute after missing 13 goal chances.
Gabonese player Jim Allevinah punished the Stars and kicked a shot into the net after G. Kanga sent a through ball into Ghana’s box.
Ghana lost 1-0 to Morocco in the opening game.
All teams in Group C have played two games.
The Black Stars have just one (1) point. Gabon have four (4) points having won their first match against Comoros.
Morocco top Group C with 6 points and have already booked a spot in the Round of 16 stage.
Ghana can qualify to the next stage if they score at least three (3) goals against Comoros on Tuesday, January 18, 2022.
Morocco must also beat Gabon to make it easier for the Black Stars to go through.
