Daasbre Oti Boateng, the Omanhene of the New Juaben Traditional area in the Eastern Region is reported dead.
Daasbre Professor Emeritus Oti Boateng, 83 died after a short illness.
The New Juaben Royal family is yet to officially announce the news.
This is about the sixth time in a roll Oti Boateng has been rumoured to have passed on and joined his ancestors.
Daasbre Oti Boateng served as the Government statistician and head of the Ghana Statistical Service for 18years (1982 to 2000).
He also worked with the University of Ghana for 14years, where he rose from the position of Senior Research Fellow to Director of Studies at the Institute of Statistical, Social and Economic Research (ISSER).
Oti Boateng was the first blackman to be elected as Chairman of the United Nations Statistical Commission in 1987.
He served as the Chairman of the 15th International Conference of Labor Statisticians which was held in Geneva in 1993.
