A male student of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) is reported dead after he accidentally fell on the stairs of a hostel on campus.
The tragic event happened at the Unity Hall on Saturday, March 27, 2021.
The student is said to have visited a friend at the first floor of the Unity Hall at about 11am when he collapsed and hit his head against the wall.
He was rushed to the Okomfo Anokye Teaching Hospital where he passed away while receiving medical care.
It’s been a terrible weekend for the University. Two students also crashed their car into a tree on campus at 3am and died on the spot.
An official of the KNUST confirmed the sad incident on JoyNews saying:
‘We learnt a car with about five occupants who are all students, one is a student of the University of Ghana and four of them are students of KNUST. They crushed into a tree by the roadside around 3am.
Two of them lost their lives, one is in critical condition at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital and two other occupants are in stable condition and responding to treatment’.
