Famous Brazilian singer Darlyn Morias has died after he was bitten by a venomous spider on his face.
Morias,28 was at his home in the northeastern city of Miranorte on 31 October, 2023 when the insect bit him.
The singer suffered an allergic reaction to the bite and went to a hospital in Minarote, where he received treatment and was discharged on Friday.
Morias’ condition worsened hence he was readmitted to Palmas General Hospital on Sunday. He died the next day.
Before his demise, Morias uploaded a close-up shot of the bite on social media, showing large fang marks under his eye and his skin turning a purple-black hue.
His 18-year-old stepdaughter also suffered a spider bite. She is in stable condition now.
The Brazilian wandering spider, also called armed spiders or banana spiders could be responsible for Morias’ death.
About 4,000 bites reportedly happen each year in Brazil, but only 0.5% of those cases are severe, according to studies. SOURCE: Kasatintin.com
