A Ghanaian pastor is reported dead after a retreat on Atwea Mountains, a popular prayer camp in the Sekyere Central District in the Ashanti Region.
The man of God (name withheld) died on Saturday when he ended a 40-day dry fasting, Kasatintin.com has learnt.
According to information, he passed on in his sleep and looked pale when eyewitnesses broke into his room Saturday morning.
Neighbours are mourning the dead, shouting his name ‘Osofo, so you are visiting your maker on empty stomach–no water, no food for forty days. Oh, this is a painful death’.
There could be more to this story than we know now.
A prophet known as Tete Diyifuo once warned Christians to desist from the practice of going to Atwea mountains to pray.
In a report filed by Payperlez.com, Tete Diyifuo explained that the word ‘Atwea’ is coined from ‘Ɔtwea’, which is another name for dog.
For this reason, he stated that the mountain is the habitation of a ‘dog–god’ and a place where ancient witches meet.
Tete Diyifuo concluded that anybody who goes to Atwea mountains to pray, in essence develops a spiritual bond with the ancient witches.
22 worshipers got trapped under a 3-storey church building belonging to the Church of Prosperity when it suddenly collapsed on October 20, 2020 at Akyem Batabi in the Eastern Region of Ghana.
Kasatintin.com reported that the victims had gathered to fast and pray for Prophet Akoa Isaac, the founder and leader of the collapsed church building who was seriously sick.
Prophet Akoa Isaac was arrested by the police to assist with investigations.
An eyewitness later disclosed that a huge snake ran out of the ground floor of the place of worship just before it came down.
Among the dead were 11 women, a baby and 10 men. 8 injured victims were taken to the hospital, and successfully treated and discharged.
