Raggae/dancehall artist Shatta Wale has been arrested by the police after being on the run for the last 24 hours.
The police smoked him out of his hideout in one of the slums in Accra at 8:00 pm on Tuesday.
Shatta Wale is in trouble after spreading false news that he has been shot and in critical condition at an unnamed hospital.

His road manager, Nana Dope and another accomplice have also been nabbed.
Nana Dope shared a post on social media claiming Shatta had been shot by a gang at East Legon on Monday, October 18, 2021 and receiving an emergency treatment.
As it turned out, the SM boss was neither shot nor admitted at the hospital.
Police said Shatta ‘has been arrested to assist the Police in investigations for his alleged involvement in the creation and circulation of information intended to cause fear and panic’.
But the Ghanaian musician explains that he intentially circulated the false news due to a prophesy by one Bishop Stephen Akwasi (Jesus Ahoufe) who predicted his death.
Jesus Ahoufe, leader of New Life Kingdom Chapel International in a video sighted by Kasatintin.com stated that Shatta Wale would lose his life on October 18, in the same way South African reggae artiste, Lucky Dube who was shot on October 18, 2007.
Shatta Wale argued that his life was threatened following the pastor’s prophecy.
‘I won’t wait for Ghana police to call my father and tell my father his son got shot this afternoon. I won’t wait for Ghana stupid media houses to spread news to my fans about me being shot because all we wish in this country is for dead people and funerals’, he added.
