Celebrated Ghanaian dancehall artist Shatta Wale has reportedly been shot by unknown gunmen.
The shooting incident took place earlier today, Monday at East Legon, a suburb of Accra.
Shatta has been rushed to the emergency unit of an unnamed hospital in Accra, and he is said to be responding to treatment as per various reports Kasatintin.com has sighted on Starrfm.com.gh and Ghana celebrities.com.
The gunmen are still on the run, his personal assistant, one Nana Dhope alleged in a social media post.
‘Thanks to all those calling to check up, the king is still at the emergency ward receiving treatment’.
He assured fans that ‘ The king is going to come out strong. Keep him in your prayers’.
The musician celebrated his 37th birthday just last Sunday (October 17, 2021) with the hashtag #Shattabration.
American superstar Beyonce extended her birthday wishes to Shatta with a photo which trended the whole day.
Some fans have expressed shocked about Shatta Wale’s shooting incident and fear he may be dead.
Others also think the sad event has been cooked up to ‘resurrect’ Shatta Wale’s sinking image in the Ghana music industry.
