Public toilet users in the Ashanti Region will have to pay more for using the facility.
This follows an announcement by the Kumasi Sanitation Awareness Association to increase the fees for public toilets and urinal facilities within the Kumasi metropolis by 25%.
Facilities which provide toilet rolls have reviewed their charges from GH¢1.50 to GH¢2.00.
If you intend to use toilet paper, you will pay at least GH¢1.50 instead of GH¢1.30.
The fee hike is due to the current increase in the prices of goods and services,Owusu Takyi, Chairman of the Kumasi Sanitation Awareness Association reportedly stated in an interview on Accra-based Class FM.
Takyi explained that the cost of dislodging the facilities has risen from GH¢800 to GH¢1,200 and that maintenance, electricity, and water bills have also seen significant increases.
Thus, the upward adjustment in the public toilet fees will enable the Association to continue to operate and provide better services to its customers. SOURCE: Kasatintin.com
