The cause of death of Ghana’s Deputy Minister of Finance, Dr John Kumah has been attributed to poisoning which was allegedly carried out by his colleague politicians.
Media personality, Captain Smart was heard in a number of videos on social media claiming that some people in NPP had poisoned John Kumah, leading to his untimely death.
But the family insists the late minister of state died after a short illness which took his life in the early hours of Thursday, March 7, 2024. He was 45 years.
The contrary account and indeed the deep revelations by Captain Smart on the circumstances which appear to have led to the death of John Kumah has caused apprehension.
Reports suggest that the police has invited Captain Smart over the allegation after John Kumah’s wife filed a complaint at the Accra Central Divisional Headquarters of the Ghana Police Service on Friday, March 8, 2024.
But on Friday, December 29, 2023, armed robbers attacked the residence of the late Dr Kumah.
Myjoyonline reported that ‘The assailants forcibly entered the home of the Minister, who is also Member of Parliament for the Ejisu Constituency, situated in Chantan in the Greater Accra Region.
The thieves made away with an amount of GH¢50,000. Additionally, they stole household appliances and important documents, including passports and birth certificates belonging to the Deputy Minister’s wife’.
The burglary occurred at about 6:44pm while the family was away attending a church event in town, the report added. SOURCE: Kasatintin.com
