The Supreme Court has upheld that NPP Presidential candidate Nana Akufo-Addo won the 2020 elections.
On Thursday, a seven-member panel of Supreme Court judges in a uninamous decision dismissed the election petition filed by John Dramani Mahama who stood on the ticket of the NDC.
The court in its ruling today said the case before it has no merit.
Mahama challenged the validity of the December 7 election results stating non of the presidential candidates satisfied the mandatory 50 percent plus 1 vote.
The petitioner prayed the apex court to order a re-run of the Presidential election. However, the court rejected this request.
The election petition hearing began on January 14,2021.
