The law could bite Josehine Panyin Mensah hard if she’s processed for court and found to have staged her kidnapping incident and faked her 9-months-old pregnancy.
Josephine, who was said to be pregnant was reported missing after taking a morning walk in Takoradi. She was later found in Axim in a miserable state and without her baby bump.
Police, after preliminary investigations alleged that Josephine raised false alarm about her abduction and she was never pregnant.
The Takoradi woman is said to have used an artificial pregnancy belly silicon to have deceived her husband.
Reports sighted by Kasatintin.com claimed that Josephine Panyin Mensah indeed got pregnant for 4months but had miscarriage along the way.
In order to still win the affection of her husband, she and her mother hatched the plan for which they have been busted and kept in police custody.
If the court charges them for misdemeanor, each court spend a minimum of 2years in jail.
But the Ghana police is yet to inform the media of the next line of action with regard to Josehine Panyin’s case.
In 2017, a married woman who faked a pregnancy to swindle $95,850 from a man was sentenced to 18 months in prison.
Johna Loreen Vandermore, 34, was sentenced to prison by U.S. District Court Judge Stephanie Rose, and was also ordered to pay back the money she took from the victim.
