President John Mahama has indicated that within the first 120 days in office,he will cancel some taxes introduced by his predecessor, Nana Akufo-Addo.
Although the action will deprive the state some revenue, the public looks forward to President Mahama to fulfill his campaign pledge of reducing taxes.
The NPP government received backlash for introducing numerous controversial taxes including E-levy and Betting Tax within the last eight years.
Dr. Gideon Boako, former Aide to Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, 2024 NPP presidential candidate has advised that ‘The Mahama administration should consult the NPP for tutorials on how to scrap the E-levy, Betting Tax and others’.
His comment caused an outrage on social media after it was published online by GHOne TV and sighted by Kasatintin.com.
In spite of this, some people are of the view that Dr. Boako spoke the hard truth.
