President Nana Akufo-Addo has finally commented on the arrest and ongoing prosecution of some activists of the anti-Galamsey group, DemocracyHub.
The group staged a three-day #StopGalamasey demonstration in Accra to pressure government to address the havoc resulting from the activities of illegal miners in the country.
During an interview on France 24, President Akufo-Addo explained that he has no hand in the alleged prosecution of DemocracyHub activists.
He said ‘I’m not responsible for jailing people in Ghana. The courts in Ghana are independent institutions, and they have been all through this period of the Fourth Republic’. Watch video here.
