Armed robbers have allegedly attacked the Sehwi Asafo Police Station in the Sehwi Wiawso Municipality, stealing an AK47 rifle, several rounds of ammunition, and other crucial police equipment.
The suspected robbers targeted the armoury after they managed to scale the iron-gated window of the police station on Friday night (February 21,2025).
Local media MyJoyonline.com said ‘Initial investigations suggest the robbers were highly organised, with some speculating that they may have been aware of the police station’s security layout’.
The media report added that ‘At the time of the attack, officers stationed at the facility were reportedly caught off guard, and no casualties were reported.
‘The assailants also looted various other police property before making a swift escape in the Western North Region’.
